As the global legal and business landscape continues to evolve, the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), in collaboration with Shahid Law Firm, are pleased to invite Russian legal professionals, investors, institutional stakeholders, and RIAC participants to an exclusive seminar titled “Neutral and Efficient Arbitration in Egypt and/or under CRCICA Rules.” The seminar will take place on Friday, 16 May 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel Moscow.

This timely session offers a first-hand look at how CRCICA is a premier, accessible, and neutral organization for administering international arbitration—particularly for commercial and investment disputes involving Africa, the Arab region, and beyond.

With over four decades of experience, CRCICA has earned a global reputation for its independence, impartiality, and procedural efficiency. Operating as a non-profit institution under a sanction-free legal framework, the Centre offers arbitration services that are internationally benchmarked, cost-effective, and user-friendly—making it a compelling choice for legal practitioners and businesses across Russia and Eastern Europe.

The seminar will emphasize on Egypt as a preferred seat for international arbitration, considering the neutral stance and unaffected position its government and courts have taken throughout the various political instabilities the world has suffered. The talking points will also underscore the extensive expertise and longstanding reputation of Egyptian arbitration practitioners, who have played a pivotal role in shaping arbitration practices across the region and on the global stage.

The seminar will be moderated by Ms. Tatyana Neveeva, Managing Partner at VERBA LEGAL and Member of CRCICA’s Advisory Committee, who brings rich cross-border expertise and a nuanced understanding of the evolving arbitration landscape.

The event will feature two eminent speakers:

  • Dr. Ismail Selim, Director of CRCICA, President of the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI), Chairman of the Egypt Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb), and Vice-President of the African Arbitration Association (AfAA). A prominent figure in the field, Dr. Selim is widely recognized for championing neutral and effective arbitration mechanisms across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Mr. Girgis Abd El-Shahid, Managing Partner of Shahid Law Firm, is a leading figure in international arbitration with over 20 years of experience handling high-stakes, multi-jurisdictional disputes. As head of the Firm’s Arbitration Practice, a member of the CRCICA Advisory Committee and a former member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, he is widely recognized for his work, especially with respect to some of the most complex and high-profile, politically sensitive, arbitrations he took part in.

Together, they will shed light on CRCICA’s pivotal role in advancing international best practices, Cairo’s strategic appeal as an arbitral seat, and the Centre’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Russian institutions, arbitrators, and business stakeholders.

At a time of geopolitical shifts and growing demand for dependable, politically neutral dispute resolution frameworks, CRCICA stands out as a stable and forward-looking arbitration hub. It offers a rare blend of procedural integrity, enforceability, and legal excellence—providing international stakeholders with a trusted anchor in an increasingly complex world. Shahid Law Firm complements this positioning through its deep involvement in landmark arbitral proceedings and its commitment to upholding the highest standards of legal advocacy in international arbitration. As a leading example of Egyptian law firm excellence, Shahid Law Firm showcases the sophistication, global outlook, and professional rigor that define the best of Egypt’s legal sector today.

This seminar is more than a discussion—it is a gateway to meaningful institutional engagement, insightful legal exchange, and high-level networking. It brings together leading voices to explore how Cairo is rapidly emerging as a central hub for international arbitration grounded in neutrality, accessibility, and strategic relevance. This gathering presents RIAC participants with a unique and timely opportunity to connect with one of the world’s most respected arbitral institutions and key practitioners in the region—an opportunity not to be missed.
